This intervention represents the further development of the first project LABCITTA, a regeneration initiative for a small abandoned plot located in Barletta, Puglia, Italy. This time the aim was to realize, through a five-days-Festival, a more permanent project: a Mediterranean garden. We worked together with community, local organizations, schools and local authorities to realize the garden. In this way we aimed to strengthen the value of community in the neighbourhood, but we also aimed to leave something after the Festival, something that people could take care of.
Everybody participated to the realization. We dug, we brought soil, we planted, we watered, we designed pathways, we painted.
In the end we had a beautiful mediterranean garden for the neighbourhood and neighbours !
